Halloween in Avalon

We keep seeing posts on the Avalon Facebook page, asking about what to expect for Halloween 2021. We hope to be able to answer all of your questions, but please comment if you have more!

An Avalon Halloween History

Halloween 2018 was quiet and manageable, with most of the action on Bards Drive. Happy residents handed out candy to the few kids who lived in the neighborhood. We put out a bowl of candy for trick-or-treaters, but I forgot to turn on the porch light so most of it remained when I returned home. Rookie mistake!

Avalon pumped it up in 2019 with a cookout at the model home (then on South Fisher King) sponsored by D.R. Horton. Kids got their full before canvassing the expanding neighborhood for goodies! There were some “treats” for the adults, too 😉

Last year was wild! So many new homes to visit that we weren’t able to see them all, but we were sure to visit the ones competing in the first annual Halloween Decoration contest. The Simmons Family came out on top and my now three-year-old still talks about how scary it was!

Helpful hints for this year:

- Hit up the amenities center at 4:30 on Sunday, 10/31 - Start trick-or-treating around 5:30 - Pass out candy 🍭🍫🍬, if you wish, or leave a bowl or treat bags on your porch. Remember to leave your light on💡! We had enough look for about 200 visitors last year, but buy only what you can - Head on home to brush those teeth and get ready for bed 😴 to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for school or work on Monday! - Got too much candy? Stay tuned for local places to donate! - Have fun and IF ANYONE KNOWS WHO WAS SKULKING AROUND AS MICHAEL MYERS IN 2019, I will pay you for information. 💀💀💀 Contact Helen Wils at 631.241.3007.
